Updating your card or billing address
Card changes happen in Stripe’s portal, not in Seenly.
Walkthrough
- 1Open Plan & billing → Manage in Stripe.
- 2Stripe’s billing portal opens in a new tab. We pre-authenticate you so you don’t sign in.
- 3Add a new card or set a different one as default.
- 4Update your billing address if it changed.
- 5Close the tab when done — changes save automatically; no extra step on Seenly’s side.
Why card changes happen in Stripe
Card numbers are the most sensitive thing in your account. Stripe is PCI Level 1 certified; we are not. Sending you to Stripe’s portal means your card details only ever touch them, which is both safer and one less thing for us to break.
When a renewal fails
- Stripe retries the charge automatically a few times over the next week.
- Each failure emails you with a “please update your payment method” notice.
- If all retries fail, your subscription pauses. Your site stays live for 3 days, then goes offline until you update the card.
- Updating the card via the portal automatically resumes the subscription and republishes your site within a minute.
